Chemistry and chemical processes are important things for many industrial activities. In Chemistry department, we have been focussing our efforts in the domains of organic synthesis for drug and chemical biology, Homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, computational modelling and chemometric, Materials and advanced materials, Electrochemistry and applications. In addition, we have also learned to think of sustainability in the context of development that “meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” and it is long overdue that we begin to link this vitally important concept with the research goals and learning outcomes of science education and think about what it means for chemistry education to be sustainable and contribute to sustainable development.
In this spirit, department of chemistry organized this one day In-house symposium series ‘Current Trends in Chemistry 2018’ (CTC series) to enable our research students to present and interact with invited experts and build a strong foundation towards their research career. One of the unique and valuable dimensions to the CTC symposium series is the way the series brings chemistry researchers on one platform to discuss ways to serve humanity better.
